Hume Conservatorium Scholarships are Now Open
Hume Conservatorium offers annual scholarships to young musicians in the local community. The program is open to any musician regardless of whether they are students of Hume Conservatorium at the time of audition or not. It is the policy of Hume Conservatorium that scholarships will be awarded to the students who, in the view of the conservatorium, are likely to benefit most from the scholarship grant. The quality of performance on the day of the audition is a major factor in this decision, but not the sole factor. All styles of music are acceptable when applying for a scholarship.
Hume Conservatorium is very fortunate to have several local and regional organisations and individuals who support our Annual Scholarship Program. The purpose of the scholarships is to encourage and accelerate the musical development of students with potential, equipping them for further study at an advanced level.
Hume Conservatorium will invite members of our Association of NSW Regional Conservatoriums network to act as adjudicators for our scholarship program in order to maintain fairness and transparency in the process. The CEO of Hume Conservatorium will have the final sign-off in the allocation of all scholarship funds.
Upon receipt of a scholarship, winners are required to have lessons with the most appropriate Hume Conservatorium tutor as decided by the CEO. Scholarship winners are encouraged to write a letter of thanks to their sponsor (if appropriate) and to send a report of their activities at the completion of their scholarship year.
To apply for a Scholarship please fill out the online form. https://humecon.nsw.edu.au/scholarships/

ALL SAINTS DAY - 1 November
The Catholic Church celebrates ALL SAINTS’ Day this coming Tuesday.
What is a SAINT? The Church does not CREATE saints. Human beings make the conscious choice to do that for themselves. Catholics believe all are called to try to be saintly each day; to live lives according to God’s commandments to love God and love one another. Mary, Jesus mother and Patron Saint of our school, was the first saint. Mary Mackillop – our very own Australian saint – is another great example for us to follow. She led her life striving to be like Jesus – her motto was: ‘Never see a need without trying to do something about it.’
The initial reason for creating a common feast day for ALL of the SAINTS was the desire to honour the great number of martyrs who had died because of their unwavering faith in Jesus and their good deeds in His name. November 1 became the official ‘All Saints Day’ after Christianity became legalised in A.D. 313.
On this day, we give thanks for the many men, women and even children who chose to live lives of faith, hope and love, and in doing so, helped lead others into God’s loving embrace.
Christians ask the Saints to pray for them today, that they may follow Jesus and experience God’s mercy and love.
We will be attending Mass to celebrate ALL SAINTS on Tuesday at 12pm. All are welcome to join us.
ALL SOULS DAY – 2 November
Throughout the year, the Church prays for, and remembers all those who have died. However, All Souls Day on November 2, is the official day of commemoration when the Church remembers, prays for, and offers special masses for the faithfully departed. We pray that our loved ones and all of those who have died enter into the loving presence of God in Heaven.

Gilbert/Croker Legends of League Rugby League Gala Day
On Wednesday 26th October, 17 St Mary’s students ventured to North Park Goulburn to compete in the Gilbert/Croker Legends of League Gala Day. A year 3/4 team and 5/6 team braved the wind, rain, and often larger opponents to play 4 games each. The students played exceptionally well and demonstrated good sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude. I was impressed to see the St Mary’s children play as a team and support their ‘mates’, especially the Year 3/4 team stepping up to make the numbers for our senior team. Behaviour on the day was exceptional and everyone enjoyed the carnival atmosphere.
A big thank you to all the parents who transported the children, attended, and supported our students on the day. A special shout out to Kim Croker and Tom Croker who coached the Year 5/6 team, along with Dan and Jayde Costello and Cole Davis who coached and managed the Year 3/4 team. The students appreciated your time and efforts!

Gabby Price Writes to the Prime Minister
"Last month I wrote a letter to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. I told him I thought he was doing a good job and that I want to be Prime Minister one day. I told him that if I was Prime Minister, I would make things more affordable for disabled people and for families who have children with disabilities like autism. The Prime Minister wrote a two-page letter back to me. He told me he was very pleased to get my letter and that he loved getting letters from young people. He told me about how the government worked and how important it is." Gabby Price
