-CONGRATULATIONS-
Over the January holidays, we had two significant life events occur for two of our staff members.
Miss Annie Croker became engaged to her partner, Josh Cummins. This move potentially evens out the Croker/Cummins quota on staff!!
Mrs Therese Skelly became a Grandmother to a healthy baby boy. Lincoln Laine is a son to Joe Skelly and his partner, Brienna.
WELCOME
This Term we have welcomed three students (along with our 23 Kinders) to St Mary's School Community.

Catch up sessions will be available for students who are absent due to illness within that timeframe.
progress.
and numeracy.
School Hours
Student supervision commences at 8.40am and concludes at 3.30pm. The first morning bell rings at 9.00am and the students are dismissed, at the end of the school day, at 3.10pm. For students requiring earlier morning supervision, Morning Club is available from 8.00am in the Library every Monday - Thursday ONLY. Please complete the following booking form if your child will be attending Morning Club.
https://smpscrookwell.schoolzineplus.com/form/25
Absence from School
If your child is away from school due to illness, an appointment or other pressing family necessity, please fill in the absentee form via the Compass parent portal (this is the preferred method).
If you are unable to access this, please contact the School Office via email or phone, or send in a note as soon as possible.
Change of Arrangement
Please notify our Office Manager Belinda via a phone call, email or note if there are any changes in routine, such as how your child is travelling home, day-time appointments, etc. This information will be passed on to your child’s teacher and placed in the 'Bus Book'. This notification can also occur via the Compass parent portal.
Crossing/Parking/Drop off and Pick up
Please help us keep our students safe with your diligence to road rules and safe use of the pedestrian crossing. You will notice signs to assist you with the drop off and pick up regulations as directed by NSW Government. Please note the PDF attached for clarification of the driver obligations.
All students are required to cross at the Crossing on Wade St and Colyer St. Both these crossings are teacher-supervised every afternoon. At NO stage are there to be students, parents or carers crossing the road in between cars and buses.
Contact
Teachers are your first port of call for questions and queries pertaining to the classroom. Appointments can be made with your child's classroom teacher by calling the Office.
I am also happy to support you in any way I can. Typically problems that are addressed quickly, in partnership, are the easiest to solve. I will be available on the school phone (48321 592) for calls usually from 8.30am - 4.30pm daily or via email within similar hours. The email address to be used to contact any staff member is office.stmarysc@cg.catholic.edu.au
Emails sent out of hours may not be responded to until the following day.
If you wish to make an appointment to see me, please contact Belinda in the Office.

School fees for 2025 are shown in the table below. The school fee in 2025 will include the tuition fee and all school-based levies (except for excursions).
We are very conscious that cost of living pressures are ongoing and have worked hard to keep fee increases to a minimum. However, 80% of our school income comes from NSW and Australian government funding which will not keep pace with rising education costs next year. In order to provide a reasonable level of resourcing for the coming year, and to ensure our school can continue to deliver excellent learning opportunities, an increase in fees was required from 2024.
Our students benefit from a high-quality educational experience and a wide range of learning and co-curricular opportunities. We continue to see improvement in academic achievement of students, particularly in literacy and numeracy. Our approach to high-impact teaching has been commended nationally and internationally. Our commitment to learning, combined with knowing each child, continues to nurture the growth and development of every child.
Your school fees are critical to support the delivery of high-quality education, the funding of all staff and the maintenance and improvement of facilities at our school.
It is a policy of the Archdiocese that no student should be refused enrolment, excluded or disadvantaged because their family is unable to afford fees. If you have any concerns that the 2025 fees may cause hardship for you and your family, I encourage you to contact me for a confidential discussion on the assistance available to support your child.
I value your partnership and thank you for your continued support of our school.
Mrs Sally-Anne Croker
The Term 1 fees will be run and distributed by Head Office in the coming week. Please keep an eye on your emails for your statement.

PILGRIMS OF HOPE- JUBILEE YEAR
Pope Francis has proclaimed 2025 a Jubilee (Holy Year).
In the Catholic Church, a Jubilee or Holy Year is a special year of forgiveness and reconciliation, in which people are invited to come back into right relationship with God, with one another, and with all of creation. It involved the forgiveness of debts, the return of misappropriated land, and a fallow (unploughed) period for fields.
The theme for this Jubilee Year is Pilgrims of Hope. Pope Francis has invited Catholics to renew our hope and discover a vision that can "restore access to the fruits of the earth to everyone". We are also invited to rediscover a spirituality of God's creation in which we understand ourselves as "pilgrims on the earth" rather than masters of the world.
Let us as a school community at St. Mary’s be Pilgrims of Hope, walking together in peace, love and forgiveness. As a community may we work together to give HOPE to those who may feel HOPELESS.
SACARMENT OF RECONCILIATION ENROLMENT EVENING
The enrolment evening for the Sacrament of Reconciliation is on now on Tuesday 25th February at 6pm in the Year 6 classroom. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF DATE!!
Session 1 for the Sacrament of Reconciliation will begin on Wednesday 5th March, 3:30pm in the Year 6 classroom. All enquiries to Rachael at rachael.croker@cg.catholic.edu.au
Making Jesus Real through RESPECT
We are made in God’s image. We each have a God-given dignity. Every one of us is precious and has the right to be valued, cared for and respected. Each of us also has the responsibility to respect others. No-one knew this better than Jesus. He was the first to tell humankind to love our neighbour. And he lived his life according to this. Every thought, word and deed reflected his love and respect for every single person, even his enemies.
Catholics believe human beings are not only made in God’s image but are made to be channels of god’s love with the help of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. They believe that Jesus works through people and creation to bring goodness and peace.
As a Catholic school, we look to Jesus as our model. We are His representatives, and our actions should reflect His values. We are to be the image of Jesus. We are to MAKE JESUS REAL to all those around us. Making Jesus Real is a way of life that allows students to see Jesus working in their lives through people and creation. It is about being a witness and sharing Jesus’ love with others.
This week we have been learning to MAKE JESUS REAL in our school by being W.E.S.T people.
Respecting others by:
