Join Us for a Night of Celebration: St Mary's 120th Anniversary Dinner Dance!
It's time to mark your calendars and dust off your dancing shoes because we are thrilled to invite all our families, friends, and supporters to the 120th Anniversary Dinner Dance, celebrating Catholic Education in Crookwell!
From humble beginnings in 1903, when the Sisters of Mercy began their mission in a small room at the back of the convent building, to the vibrant and thriving educational institution it has become today, we have much to be proud of.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, 21st October
- Time: 6:00 PM
- Location: Crookwell Services Club
- Attire: Cocktail attire
Our evening promises to be magical, filled with laughter, nostalgia, and dancing! We've lined up fantastic entertainment to make this anniversary unforgettable. Before dinner, enjoy the melodies of Harriet Lowe. After dinner, dance the night away with the rocking tunes of Chalkie White.
This unforgettable evening costs just $60 per ticket, including dinner and table wine. More information on how to purchase tickets will be provided in the coming week.
But that's not all! The real essence of this evening is the chance to connect with new and old friends, share stories, and celebrate St Mary's Primary School.
We extend this invitation to all adult parents and friends, ex-students (over 18 years old) and staff, and anyone who has been a part of the St Mary's family. Please help us spread the word to ensure a fantastic turnout for this milestone event.
Let's come together to celebrate 120 years of Catholic education in Crookwell and toast to many more years of success and growth for St Mary's School. Your presence will make this evening truly special.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Good luck to Jacob at Public Speaking
We wish Jacob Hogan, in Year Four, the best of luck tomorrow at the Archdiocesan Public Speaking Competition at Ss Peter and Paul's, Goulburn.
STEM Workshops -Solar Buddy and Anti-Bullying Program
On Wednesday, 6 September, our students visited Crookwell High School to participate in an initiative to assist a child suffering from energy poverty. The students worked together to build a solar light to be gifted to an underprivileged child who does not have access to reliable powered light. Students also participated in Anti-bullying conversations to build a stronger community within our schools.

Friday 8 September- Happy Birthday Mother Mary
Tomorrow, we celebrate Mary’s birthday. The Bible doesn’t say anything about Mary’s birth, but we know that she was born. When Mary was born, the world did not know who she was but like all parents, Mary’s parents - Joachim and Ann—probably took one look at their newborn daughter and knew that she was special. They raised Mary as a child of God, teaching her to love and serve God. When the angel Gabriel told Mary that she had been chosen to be the Mother of Jesus, she already had great faith in God. Her strong faith and trust allowed her to say yes to God’s plan for her (as overwhelming as it must have been).
We cannot be certain what the future holds for any newborn infant, but we do know that God has created each person with love and that the life of every person has meaning and purpose.
Tomorrow, as we honour Mary, let us thank God for the gift of our lives, and remember that God has a plan for us. Let us pray for eyes that see and hearts that recognise the graces and blessings from God in our lives. Let us give honour to both Mary and Jesus by showing respect and concern for one another.
Maybe you forget that God is calling you right now, to do what Mary did—to bring Jesus into the world.
Happy birthday Mama Mary and always pray for us.
St Mary's School Feast Day
Our special Feast Day will begin with Mass at 9:30am. All are welcome to attend. Following Mass, the children will join together in stage groups to participate in a number of special activities to celebrate and honour Mary.
Don't forget to wear blue clothing!

All the best boys, we cannot wait to hear updates.
School Sport with Mrs. Linda Walsh
Students have been busy participating in the Jump Rope for Heart Program for fitness and sport in recent weeks. The program can help primary schools meet the mandatory weekly requirements for student participation in sport and physical activity and encourages students to build a positive attitude towards exercise, healthy eating, and heart health. The program will conclude on Friday 19th September with a Skip-a-thon and a gold coin donation for the Heart Foundation.

On the 6th of September, St Mary’s students attended a STEM activity at Crookwell High School. Every class built Solar Buddy Lights to be sent to children around the world that are living in solar poverty and have no light to do their reading or homework. We had the Crookwell High School students help us with the building.
This was followed by an activity to help address bullying.
Here are some opinions some of the classes shared about their sessions.

Ava said, “I think that it’s important to send these Solar Lights to children that don’t have light in their homes.”
