Principal Talk with Mrs Lowe
Congratulations
Congratulations to the McIntosh family on the safe arrival of a baby girl, Rosey Hazel who was born on Monday 11 March at 2.47am and weighing 2.92kg. What wonderful news for Kimberley, Ben, Elsie and Laela. We hope that mum and bub are going well!
'Bullying. No Way'!
Tomorrow, Friday 15 March, is 'Bullying. No Way!' Day. St Mary’s students will participate in various activities that support the National Day against Bullying and Violence.
It is a great reminder to our school community that our students’ wellbeing is our number one priority. Our Pastoral Care structures have been developed to ensure that the culture of our school is safe and supportive and that the students are educated to act responsibly and respectfully to others.
‘Bullying. No Way!’ Day gives the opportunity to remind students that they can communicate their worries or concerns. We encourage St Mary’s students to SPEAK UP if they, or someone they know, is being bullied. Talking to someone is the first step to making the bullying stop.
Harmony Day
Next week 18-22 March is Harmony Week. This event is a day to celebrate Australian multiculturalism. This year's theme is 'Everyone Belongs'. It is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values. To celebrate Harmony Week, Year Six students will host a Fundraiser. Students can come to school dressed in multi-coloured clothes on Friday 22 March. A gold coin for this privilege will be collected. The money raised from this event will go towards our Caritas Project.
Uniform Reminder
Just a reminder that all boys and sports socks are to be purchased from the uniform shop. Boys are to wear grey socks with the green and gold strip each day and all students are to wear the bottle green sports socks with gold strips each Friday.
Showcase of Learning
Our first Showcase of Learning Assembly will be hosted by Stage 3 on Friday 5 April at 12.30pm. Save the date!
