PILGRIMS OF HOPE PRAYER
ALL SAINTS DAY
All Saints’ Day celebrates the feast or solemnity of all the saints in Heaven, both saints recognised by the Church as holy men and women and those who remain unknown.
All Saints’ Day is celebrated on November 1 every year. In 2025, All Saints’ Day falls on a Saturday.
All Saints’ Day is a holy day of obligation. Catholics are expected to attend Mass on All Saints’ Day.
All Saints’ Day celebrates the holy men and women in Heaven, those known and unknown by the Church, on November 1, whereas All Souls’ Day honours all of the faithful departed on November 2.
Prayer for All Saints
Almighty ever-living God, by whose gift we venerate in one celebration the merits of all the Saints, bestow on us, we pray, through the prayers of so many intercessors, an abundance of the reconciliation with you for which we earnestly long. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
Amen
ALL SOULS DAY
All Souls’ Day falls on November 2, just one day after All Saints Day. In some Spanish-speaking countries and communities, All Souls’ Day is the second day of “Día de Los Muertos” celebrations. This holy day celebrates all the faithful departed.
Officially known as the “Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed,” All Souls’ Day is a day to celebrate, honour, and pray for all those who have died to rest peacefully with God. Many pray for their friends and family who have passed on this day.
All Souls’ Day is celebrated on November 2 every year. In 2025, All Souls’ Day falls on a Sunday.
All Souls’ Day guides us in remembering our deceased loved ones, as well as praying for a peaceful journey from Purgatory to Heaven.
Prayer for All Souls
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

SRC PEACE GARDEN UPGRADE
Students from all grades across our school have worked tirelessly over the past month to help upgrade our Peace Garden into an environmentally friendly and sustainable space. We have planted two vegetable gardens, hung hydroponic fruit and vegetable pipes, created a chicken coop and given a fresh coat of paint where needed. This will become a wonderful space for students to engage with agriculture and be stewards of their environment.
We do need some help…If you are able to donate any of the following, or have some laying around home that you would like to gift to the students, it would be greatly appreciated:
- Free standing garden beds or pods
- Straw
Please contact me directly at rachael.croker@cg.catholic.edu.au if you are able to assist.
ALTAR SERVER TRAINING
The school and parish are on the hunt to recruit more altar servers. Their role will be to assist at School masses, as well as being on a roster (if available) for Sunday Parish masses.
Training will commence in the coming weeks, and be held at school during school hours.
This is open to students in Years 4, 5 and 6 who have completed the sacrament of First Holy Communion.
Please reach out to me ASAP if your child is interested.
