Year 5 Space Projects
Year Five Science Projects
Mrs Walsh announced that our Term 2 science project will be a 3D model of the solar system.
When I got off the bus I dashed inside and got a piece of paper and a pencil and started brainstorming. I sat there thinking. I need something original. I needed something better than my brother. Then it struck me, an UMBRELLA! I yelped out to mum and yelled “MUM can I borrow your umbrella? “Ok you have to paint it first,”
“Ok mum”.
I was up late for a whole week working and painting. Then I went and got my booklet I was given for my project. I was instructed to include all eight planets, the Earth’s moon, Pluto and the Sun, but I wanted to go one better, so I included the Milky Way, the Kuiper and Asteroid Belt and a few astronauts for decoration.
On Tuesday the 31st it was time to show our projects, and everyone had done a brilliant job. There were boxes, planks of wood, even a lamp shade, but in the end, it was Chloe who won, and the two runners up were Kaitlin and me. Everyone did exceptionally well, learned a lot and it was fun.
